Volvo is lauding it. Their marketing department is in overtime promoting this unique-to-Volvo feature. What is it? It’s the floating console. The press have lapped it up; only recentyl I saw Tom Ford going on about the floating console on Fifth Gear (a TV motoring show which unsuccessfully tries to emulate the great Top Gear).
I can’t understand how it’s ‘floating’. It isn’t floating or interesting. It’s a facia board with a gap behind it. And it looks dull with grouped white-on-black buttons. Come on Volvo, surely this more clutching at straws than cutting edge.
